White Dog sometimes gets frustrated with Still Another White Dog because she likes to follow WD around and copy her every move. When WD lies down SAWD wants to lie right next to her. WD loves to be brushed and fussed over; SAWD sits as close as possible waiting for HER turn. When White Dog asks to play fetch, Puff runs and often snatches the thrown toy first. White Dog understands the copycat behavior is a form of flattery and fights hard to not get annoyed, especially when she is reminded of Puff's past life as a yard dog turned out because she was too old to continue breeding at a puppy mill or of SAWD's battle with advanced heartworms.

Just after joining the family, Puff sat watching WD excitedly get ready and leave for the groomer. She was first at the door waiting for her sister upon WD's return and spent much time sniffing envying the sparkling white extra fluffy fur. She was still very sick at that time, but we promised her that once she was well that she would have the opportunity for a day at the spa...and a chance to feel like a Princess.

Today was the day. White Dog spent time preparing SAWD for her luxurious outing to our trusted groomer. She cautioned her not to be afraid of the noises; reminded her that she was part of the White Dog Army which meant major respect from the other pups in the 'hood; and nuzzled her for confidence. Puff looked back nervously as she and Steve left this morning but held her head high when she heard the encouraging "WOOF" of YoYoMa and Nuka's yips of good luck. Quinn silently waited for her return on the sunporch. White Dog watched from the window perch as Pumpkin backed down the drive and disappeared.

Later, Steve came home with a sparkling white extra fluffy girl. She was soft as angora and looked pert with her styled hair and trimmed nails. Puff was greeted by the rest of WDA who sniffed her all over and could not stop complimenting her. She DID look great! And, according to the Groomer, seemed to enjoy the fussing.

Puff shyly looked at White Dog and said, "the best part was when Seven told me I looked almost like you!" (Seven is the groom shop Scottie). White Dog rolled her eyes and went behind the chair...but I could see her smiling back there.
