If you like, share with everyone why you do, or do not, like the sentence.
The Friday 56
Rules:
- Grab the book nearest you. Right now.
- Turn to page 56.
- Find the fifth sentence.
- Post that sentence (plus one or two others if you like) along with these instructions on your blog or (if you do not have your own blog) in the comments section of Freda's Voice
- Post a link along with your post back to Freda's Voice

Don’t dig for your favorite book, the coolest, the most intellectual. Use the CLOSEST.

| 2002 Edition |
Here is the product description:
Two tough-but-tender characters with a bright future—if they live that long.Beginning:
Terran Miri Robertson was a mercenary, but she retired to a cushy job as a private bodyguard. What she didn’t know was that her client had powerful enemies. Now he’s dead, and they’re after her.
The man who was not Terrence O'Grady had come quietly.Friday 56 (estimated):
And that, Sam insisted, was clear proof. Terry had never done anything quietly in his life if there was a way to get a fight out of it.
Liz snorted, eyes softening. "How much trouble are you in?"
"More'n last week, less than next. You know how it goes."

| 1988 Edition |
Of course, you can also check out eBay and get a copy of the 1988 edition for a buy it now price of $14.99 if that sort of thing excites you.
As for me, I have the 1988 version, the 2002 version, the 2000 omnibus Partners in Necessity which includes this story, The Agent Gambit and a copy of the book on my Kindle. This is a series that I re-read frequently. I also want to support the authors and never want to be without a copy of this book.
