US Army Private Ryan J. Larson, from Friendship, Wisconsin, was killed from the blast of an improvised explosive device on 15th June 2011 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, while conducting a mounted patrol.
19-year-old Pvt. Larson joined the army in June 2010. He served with the 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, based at Fort Wainwright, Alaska.
