"Hey," I said to Steve but for White Dog's ears. "I need to to go over to Dawg Gone Good and get some paperwork for the 2MillionDog Walk. Do you think a certain White Dog might like to come with?"
With sparkling eyes, WD was seated on her leash chair ready to go before Steve responded. Dawg Gone Good is a wonderful boutique that just opened in our neighborhood.

Bright and inviting, the shop holds treasures of every kind for both humans and their canine owners. It is one of the best examples of the wonderful development happening on historic Route 66 in our University neighborhood that is encouraging people to walk (although not in today's heat)and bring their dogs and interact within the community.

When we got there, White Dog barked a greeting but was instantly drawn to the large pup play area inside the door.

Throughout the store, there a comfy spots to sit and share, or to just take a moment to decide between so many tempting choices..

White Dog and I checked out the reading selections and read a beautiful story about Angel pups...thinking of those we love who have recently earned their wings.

White Dog was having a great time. There was so much to see. Handpainted bowls. T-Shirts for humans with witticisms straight from the pup's mouth. Incredible looking and amazingly delicious cookies. The heat? She wasn't thinking about it at all.

In the end, she found the perfect gift to take home for The White Dog Army...jerky made from buffalo heart (Quinn LOVES buffalo). White Dog waited while Judy rang up her purchase and then took a moment to let her know that Dawg Gone Good was just what our neighborhood had needed. Steve and I seconded our White One's sentiment and added that she and Anna Beth not only had a great store but that it had a fabulous spirit to it. It is clear that both owners love dogs and are committed to making sure life is...dawg gone good.
