White Dog sighed contentedly as she snuggled in next to Steve on the couch. "This almost seems like a regular White Dog Saturday," she yawned.

We had wakened the pups early in order to get some work done on the rapidly approaching 2MillionDog Puppy UP! New Mexico Canine Cancer Walk for Awareness and Research (September 25th), and then had hustled everyone into Pumpkin to take Michael to volunteer at Watermelon Mountain Ranch.

Then the WDA had team building maneuvers as they hiked along the mesa. A quick stop to snag creamy coffee and buttery pecan rolls, and we were off to the Park where the Walk is being held to take some photos, run in the grass and enjoy our pastries in the shade of an old cottonwood. Puff and Nuka, mouths full of gooey sweetroll, still managed to bark at the alien looking intruder who arrived for the Little League game. Neither was trusting enough of the young catcher in his gear to believe that he was a regular boy...he just did not look right.

Eyes were getting heavy on the ride home, Vangelis music playing and the van's air condo creating the perfect environment for a nap. Too soon we were home, and the zen of the siesta moved inside.
