White Dog, The Other White Dog, Another White Dog, and Still Another White Dog were in Pumpkin trying to hurry us along. We were on our way to Winslow, AZ, to meet Comet and Blu's Girl and to finally bring Yet Another White Dog (YoYo) home with us. We left in the mid morning knowing he would not be there until evening but we wanted family time together at a Park and Steve wanted some no-drive time between the "to" and "back" sections of the four-hour each way trip.

The ride was uneventful with a few rest stops to stretch our legs and such. We had packed a picnic and McHood Park was perfect! It was along a creek and nearly deserted. We made camp under a big pavilion where the pups spent the afternoon watching nature, napping a bit, exploring.

We got the call that YoYo was in town and would meet us at the Park by the historic Railroad district. The White Dog scrambled to repack and get us all in the car as quickly as possible. They were impatient when Steve could not find the Park. Then Nuka (from her backseat lookout) woofed, "I think I see him!" And there he was, our splendid boy, standing on a corner in Winslow Arizona! (about 1/2 a block from the park).

Pumpkin drove itself into the parking lot (because we were all gawking) and Steve and Siku jumped out to make our first official contact...the end of the Eskie Railroad!

Then we set about introducing ourselves...one by one...in a mob...hugs and sniffs...caresses and nose touches. It was instant...YoYo was part of the White Dog Army...no fuss or big deal. In fact, Nuka hopped back in the van and curled up on YoYo's blanket while the greetings continued. Lacey captured some wonderful shots both of her drive up from Phoenix to Winslow and of the First Meeting: https://picasaweb.google.com/116892159849344995169/YoYoMay32011?authkey=Gv1sRgCJWchsvGvpfgpAE#

We had brought a crate but did not even assemble it. YoYo hopped in next to Quinn and the two lay side-by-side. After a short while, Puff joined them and the three slept tangled like puppies on the floor cushion...pushing each other for space, shifting and causing a ripple effect with the others, peacefully calmly securely sleeping as Pumpkin devoured the miles to home. White Dog turned to ride backward in her "throne" so that she could watch her Army. I swear she could not contain her pride and joy. Nuka took advantage of having the entire back seat to herself and slept sprawled its full length, snoring.

We got home very late and brought TWDA inside. Since no one had eaten dinner we prepared a light meal. YoYo learned in an instant where the kitchen was and joined his brother and sisters in the food waltz between bowls after the main feeding frenzy had been quenched. Our new boy is a chow hound...he eats fast and lots! Then as Steve unpacked the essentials from the car and set up the crate for YoYo to sleep in (no door but a secure space of his own)Quinn and YoYo explored the house abit and did some boy huffing. Nuka herded YAWD by barking orders until our new boy realized that no one else took her "orders" seriously...he touched her nose and went around. Puff proved to be a little timid around him as he moves around but I think that she has the hardest time with change so her adjustment period might be longer. White Dog just assumed all was well and headed for the bed...it WAS after 2am.

We took her cue. A nite-nite walk for YoYo and then , of course, bedtime treats and everyone settled down for much appreciated sweet dreams at the end of an incredible day.
