White Dog grumbled at the heavy low hanging clouds and snuggled closer as the gusting winds banged on the dog door. The Sunday Plan had been to take Michael to the big pet adoption event that Water Mountain Ranch was attending and then for The White Dog Army, Steve and I to head out into the sunshine for some fun at the Park. It was 43 degrees F and threatening snow in the foothills. And there was the wind issue.

After a hurried discussion with Quinn, Nuka, and Puff, we revamped that Plan. They would sleep in and enjoy the cozy, safety warmth of home while we dropped off Michael and went for groceries. When we returned they could supervise the final preparations for YoYo's arrival. Then we would take the WDA to the Park (in the afternoon when it was warmer and the wind had blown itself out) before we all went for a ride to pick up our teen animal rescue volunteer.

Well, the wind never calmed and by the late afternoon it was raining. SAWD was coughing the scary sounding congestive bark-gag that seems to arise from the cold and from blowing dust. Even Quinn, who loves wild weather did not like the silty rain that left his eyes stinging and his coat clumpy. Steve cancelled the trip to the Park and got few complaints.

Fortunately Dragon and Sen-ge came for dinner...a warming aromatic Middle Eastern feast scented with mint tea and Candace's cinnamon pudding. After, the honorary White Dogs lightened the mood with their brotherly sumo-wrestling...we all chuckled at Sen-ge's body slam into his brother and Dragon's deft twist to pin the pup. Nuka was an excellent referee. In response to their family's need, White Dog handed down the bed stairs she used as a pup and spent a little time teaching Dragon and Sen-ge how to use them.

All too soon Gregg pointed out that it WAS a school night for him, Michael and Steve so we sniffed and hugged and bid each other a good week...as we do each of you!
