Canadian Army Corporal, Yannick Scherrer, aged 24, from Montreal, was killed 27th March 2011 by a roadside bomb while he was on foot patrol near Nakhonay, Kandahar.

Cpl. Scherrer served with the 1st Battalion, Royal 22nd Regiment based in Quebec.

This was his first tour of duty in Afghanistan.
