UFO sighting over Jerusalem

On January 28 three different videos were uploaded on YouTube claiming to film a UFO … or at least a bright ‘speck’ of light … descending towards Jerusalem’s skyline and hovering above the location of the Dome of the Rock (Temple Mount). A minute or so into the videos there is a bright flash of light and the ‘speck’ shoots up from the skyline.

UFO-over-Jerusalem

While the authenticity of the videos has been questioned –  belonging to that genre known as ‘shaky camera’ type sightings of UFOs that we are all familiar with - this has not prevented many religious fanatics to start babbling about the second coming and judgment day!

The three videos in question are shown below for your viewing pleasure:

Video #1

UFO over the old city of Jerusalem, 01/28/2011

This is the first video of the so-called sighting uploaded to YouTube. The person who posted this video says: “This morning around 01:00 am at the promenade of Armon Hantziv in Jerusalem, I was witness (with another guy),[to] an amazing UFO aircraft over Jerusalem old city (Mount Moriah) Dome of the Rock, Temple Mount…” He then asks (rhetorically)
”What is the meaning of this sighting?????????”

Video #2

Jerusalem UFO: Second Video, 01/28/2011

The first video has “spread like wildfire across the net”, says one Michael Cohen of allnewsweb.com. Two days later another video of the same event was uploaded to YouTube by a second ‘witness’ who, as it turns out, happened to be filming from the same vantage point as the first.

Cohen also reports receiving “one email” from “a resident of the Talpiot” who claims to have seen “an unusual flash of light” on his way back from late night prayers at the Western Wall, though “he did not see any UFOs”.

“Interestingly”, concludes Cohen, “ancient Jewish texts talk of a ball of light that would descend to the Temple to ignite the sacrificial altar in days gone by. Was this ball of light being sent down by aliens?”

Video #3

2nd Jerusalem Dome of the Rock Temple Mount UFO video surfaces from 01/28/2011.

This video, also uploaded two days after the first, was evidently shot by a tourist who “was filming while on a late night tour of Jerusalem.”

"We seen 'em in Mississippi like this”, one observer can be heard saying in the background, “but never, never like this..."

Before you get all flustered, you might also want to look at this last video debunking the whole thing as – what else? - an elaborate hoax.

HOAX! - Third View of UFO over Temple Mount in Jerusalem

The man behind this last video – aptly named HOAXKiller1 – explains that this third view of the UFO from the Temple Mount is completely FAKE. Its creators evidently put together an animation – using a photo downloaded from Wikipedia as the ‘background’ - which they played through an LCD screen and then re-filmed using a video camera adding the various sound effects and wobbles to make it look and sound genuine. You will also have observed that they forgot to add the fake lights seen in the first two fake videos!!!

So is the Truth out there? It sure is … if you look hard enough!!!
