Two water overflows recorded last Tuesday on the Peru's Panamerican Highway, in the region of Ica, caused no damage to the Nazca lines, said Alberto Urbano, manager of the local office of the Regional Bureau of Culture of Peru.
He noted that the events occurred between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. between kilometers 427-431 of the highway are far from the best-known figures of Nazca, located between km 424 and 426.
Archaeologist explained that this situation is the result of rainfall that occurs in the highlands of the province of Nazca at this time of the year.
