White Dog wants to wish her sister, Nuka Angel Marie, a very happy 10th Barkday today. Quinn, The Other White Dog, adds that he is glad that she came to live with us. Puff, Still Another White Dog, asks for her sister to have many more birthdays that we celebrate together. We humans, yet again forgetting she cannot hear us, greeted her with a heartfelt song and special barkday cuddles first thing this morning.
Nuka, Another White Dog, has only been with us four months, but we can barely remember times without her clowning antics, winning smile or bossy bark. Her arrival perfectly filled the spot in our family that had been waiting just for her. Here is a bit of her history: Nuka, then called Angel, came into ERU foster care 2/10/09. She was rescued from Hillsboro Co. Florida. She was adopted in September, 09 but was returned because of her deafness. Nuka was fostered by two Angel rescue families until her cross country adoption by us. Before she set out on her journey to her furever home she had to be shaved...NAKED…this was the start of her fashion “addiction”.
Please enjoy the video of Nuka modeling all of the beautiful wardrobe friends sent to keep her warm and preserve her dignity during the bare skin days…and since as our girl has developed her own sense of style!
In honor of this special video premiere and Nuka Angel Marie’s Tenth Barkday the White Dog Army will donate twenty-five cents for every comment left. AWD has chosen to donate her birthday funds to ERU, Eskie Rescuers United, who saved her and fostered her until her forever family (us) found her. Please join us to celebrate…and spread the word!
MONDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE: White Dog and Quinn have issued a challenge...they will DOUBLE the donation for each comment to fifty cents if Nuka will stop dancing around the house barking at the top of her lungs, "It's my Barkday!"
WE HAVE INCREDIBLE FRIENDS: Princess KeKe and her family will match The White Dog Army donation to ERU in honor of Nuka's birthday! Isn't that the most generous and wonderful thing? There is still time to comment!
