Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
My teaser this week is from a fun historical fiction novel. The Secret History of the Pink Carnation by Lauren Willig is great for those who cut their teeth on The Scarlet Pimpernel by Orczy as I did. I have found it to be laugh-out-loud funny in places too.
Teaser:
If she didn't do something to distract herself soon, she would probably start running madly about the room or jumping up and down or twirling wildly in circles, just to spin off some of her excess energy. Even one of Uncle Bertrand's lectures on cross-breeding sheep would be welcome.I have just begun this book but I am enjoying it immensely.
