Four Christmases-Four Countries

Christmas in Brazil (2007)

Time is flying by and our furlough schedule is busier than ever. This weekend we enjoyed a reunion with a wonderful group of friends, all who have been to Mozambique as a part of a different mission teams to help with our work. It was such an encouragement to share updates on people they had connected with, hear their dreams for serving God, and to just enjoy being together.

On Sunday, we participated in Sugar Creek's Mission Day. They've recently posted a powerful video that asks the questions, "What's Your Mission." We were so encouraged to see what Sugar Creek is doing not just in Mozambique, but in other parts of the world and right here in Houston. We are so thankful to be a part of their vision.

This will be the first Christmas we've spent in the States in seven years, and it's such a blessing to be with family and friends over the holidays. We recently put up a Christmas tree, and I was struck by the fact that we've celebrated the past four Christmases (including this year) in four different countries. I took a quick peek in my photo album and pulled out a few photos from our international Christmases in Brazil, Mozambique, South Africa, and this year, the US.

This year, I'm looking forward to time with family, drives through decorated neighborhoods, and the reminder of a God who "so loved the world that He gave His one and only son."

What about you? What are you looking forward to this year?

Be blessed,

Lisa
