White Dog was more attentive than usual to me all morning. She didn't just sit on the arm of my chair, she leaned against me pressing tightly so that I could feel her warmth. WD followed me as I went about the morning...and Quinn followed her, coming up after her to rest his head on my lap or to lick my hand. Nuka slept literally on my feet. Puff, who has not yet been overly affectionate to me, stood close and watched me and even ventured near enough to allow me to stroke her sides and neck.

I loved all of the attention but commented to Steve when he called, that all of the pups seemed very needy today.

When he came home at lunch and bent to kiss me, he pulled back in surprise! "Your forehead is very hot," he said. I mentioned that I was feeling kind of achy and really tired. White Dog woofed at Steve and the rest of the White Dogs magically surrounded us.

"The pups are not needy today," Steve corrected me, "They are taking care of you and making sure you are all right!" I looked around me at WD, TOWD, AWD, and SAWD and realized that they had recognized I was coming down with a "bug" even before I did! "Thank you, White Ones," I gently responded, "And you, too, Steve" as he tucked the blankets tighter and handed me a mug of chicken soup.
