A scientific conference entitled 'Palmyra throughout Ages' started on Monday in the Polish capital Warsaw marking Poland's celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Polish archaeological excavations in the city of Palmyra.
The 3-day conference tackles the most important and modern archaeological findings in Palmyra and the importance of the city through architectural and tourism prospects. Syrian officials are participating in the conference in addition to Polish, French, Swiss and German archaeologists who have worked in the city.
The conference coincides with an exhibition that contains photos and paintings of Palmyra in its different stages.
