White Dog wants to know why the minute the weather becomes perfect and the days gloriously rich in colors and smells, that the shadows creep faster across the grass dragging twilight to cover everything. Tonight was a good example; we dropped Michael off at his appointment and had just gotten to the Park (like we did all summer) when the sky began to pinken and deepen.

She and The Other White Dog barely had time to circumvent the Park and do a little sniffing before darkness began to fall. The harder WD ran in zoomies, the faster stars began to wink into view. Before the hour was up, night was upon us.

We picked Michael up, seeing him first in the headlights as we turned into the parking lot. It was only slightly after seven. "Gee, I miss the long summer days that went on until nearly bedtime," White Dog moaned. She was not happy at Steve's response of "Wait until the time change later in the month...it will get dark way earlier than this!"

Daisy Mae update: Daisy was sent home without surgery because the object is beginning to move toward the exit (they think it might be a cat toy). She is on antibiotics because her stomach lining is ulcerated (maybe from the object) and on meds to help the passage. Daisy still feels a bit glicky but we are all relieved that no cutting will be necessary. Please visit her blog for the full story.
