Dottie of Troop 125 in Jasper wanted to teach girls to dance at the local dance studio to earn her Bronze Award. She prepared a schedule of the times and types of program she wanted to offer. She made flyers to hand out and purchased supplies. Girls who wanted to participate were charged a small admission fee and asked to donate a pair of gently-used shoes that were donated to the Daily Mountain Eagle Shoe Fund. During snack time, Dottie used the opportunity to discuss the importance of healthy eating and then she served a healthy snack. Through earning her Bronze Award, Dottie learned that she should not rush things. The Girl Scout Bronze Award is the highest award a Girl Scout Junior can earn. This award recognizes that a Girl Scout Junior has gained the leadership and planning skills required to follow through with a project that makes a positive difference in her community.
