Grieving Cats

Grieving Cats
Christine left behind 4 loving cats who continue to live with her partner. Their names are Polly, Oliver, Jimmy & Zoe. Christine was a cat-lover & then some so she is missed by her feline companions. Cats do grieve and feel the loss of a loved one. There can be signs of grieving that should be noticed by the remaining owners. The cat may sleep more and when awake be much more vocal than normal. It may not eat or drink which can be a serious problem and must be attended to within 2 days. Litter box accidents can be frequent. The cat may roam the house calling for the missing person. In all of these cases, more attention must be paid to the pet and keeping the cat busy by playing with it and carrying it around will help. It usually just takes time for the cats to accept the loss of their person and as long as they stay in their own home, their lives should return to as close to normal as possible. Don't let anyone tell you that cats do not grieve.....they do.
