White Dog always barks to let us know when Michael's bus arrives bringing him home at the end of the school day. So usually by the time he gets to the door Quinn is waiting and White dog is settled on the couch in anticipation of a tummy rub. Today, Michael rushed in and gathered the White Ones around him and said to us all, "I have some important news." We all waited, ears perked up, for him to continue.

"I talked with the Vice-Principal and my teacher today and gave them an idea that they are going to look into making happen!" he said excitedly. White Dog and The Other White Dog leaned closer, totally interested. "I called it Project Earth and told them that the campus was all full of litter and garbage that wasn't just ugly, it was not safe. Dogs and animals walking around could get cut on the glass and rodents could be attracted to the food stuff and birds could be poisoned trying to eat things that are not bird food.

"So I suggested that maybe we could have classes volunteer to do cleanup during class time and get extra credit points for helping out. Mr. C really thought my idea was a good one and made notes and everything!" We all congratulated him for his proactive citizenship and told him how impressed and proud we were that he had taken his great idea and had actually talked to those in charge. Quinn nuzzled him and said, "That was very brave of you and it is very cool that you thought about us doggies walking across the litter!" White Dog licked Michael's hand.

"So do you think maybe you could write about this on your blog?" he asked White Dog. "It might give other people ideas on how to make things better around them." White Dog looked him straight in the eye and woofed, "You bet I will!"
