Archaeologists have discovered the oldest sculpture of a hawk in the world said to date back to the 10th millennium BC, according to Syrian sources.
The Directorate-General of Antiquities and Museums in the Ministry of Culture said that the hawk sculpture was unearthed during a joint Syrian-French archaeological expedition in the area of Belaas, Hama, in central Syria.
