First archaeological studies on one of the Thracian hills close to the village of Chernogorovo, district of Pazardzhik (South Bulgaria) are already a fact, said Boris Hadzhiyski, director of the Regional Museum of History in Pazardzhik, speaking to Radio FOCUS – Pazardzhik.
“During the excavations on a tomb, archaeologists discovered 5-6 graves, which are shortened. One of them is a medieval one, as we found one silver coin dating back to the times of King Alexander of Bulgaria, two earrings and a ring,” Hadzhiyski informed.
“We also found ceramics during the excavations in cult hole we found in the basis of the hill. We are going to examine the hole in detail. So far we have discovered small items made of ceramic and bones, as well as small broken eggs. The findings make us believe that they refer to some cult. Probably some rituals were made here, connected to the religion of the ancient Thracians,” Boris Hadzhiyski added.
