White Dog and Quinn continued our recently established "tradition" of going to the Park and for ice cream while Michael visited with his counselor so Steve figured that they would already be on the road to fullness before dinner was served later in the evening. He planned to grill freshly ground hamburgers and was making the patties with both White Dogs at his feet. White Dog watched as he finished and she gave the counter a second unbelieving stare...then she came in to voice her complaint to me. Seems Steve with his "Pups are full" theory had been remiss in asking his loyal subjects and had neglected to make burgers for them! I helped White Dog straighten out the situation (but she and TOWD had to share one patty as a compromise to Steve) so that disaster was averted. The Other White Dog in his sublime confidence that a burger would land in his bowl was already outside sitting by the grill. Both White Dogs supervised Steve's chef-ing and made sure that "their" burger was not the smallest one...then eyeballed the sharing process, demanding a jeweler's precision as Steve divided the prize into two equal portions. Finally, Michael and I heard, "Dinner is served!" and the entire family bit into Steve's juicy fresh masterpieces in a synchronized motion.
