White Dog Ranch. Day 6. White Dog could not believe how quickly this session of the Ranch passed. Gregg and Candace would return tonight and Dragon would be sleeping in his own bed at home. He had done well at the Ranch and both White Dogs agreed that he could carry him the title, "Honorary White One."
Anticipation built all day as White Dog, The Other White Dog and the Honorary White Dog watched the clock (between naps), paced the house (between play sessions), and watched out the window (barking at every movement or sound). We prepared the guest's favorite meal as a special parting celebration: ground turkey and vegetable spaghetti with kibble and cheese sprinkled on top. There were bites of cherries and plums for dessert.
Their flight was expected in at 10:30 pm but Gregg and Candace experienced the not unusual delays which pushed their actual arrival to nearly midnight. Their greeting from Dragon brought tears to their eyes and the White Dogs watched excitedly from the sidelines. White Dog gave Dragon a good report and his parents were very proud...but exhausted...so they gathered up the suddenly reluctant to leave Dragon to head home. White Dog and The Other White Dog stood side by side watching out of the window until the car disappeared from sight.
