White Dog was on the horns of a dilemma. Both she and The Other White Dog wanted a snack. It was her turn to choose...rich, succulent, yummy, crunchy duck jerky which she and Quinn both LOVE or a long lasting lip smacking marrow bone stuffed with yogurt straight from the freezer? It was a very hot day so frozen would be good. The bone would last longer. But White Dog and TOWD could probably negotiate several strips of jerky as opposed to just one bone. Jerky was more to Quinn's liking because of his dental issues. On the negative side, Jerky is munched through fairly quickly unless you horde the strips and have self control (which Quinn doesn't). And the frozen yogurt is quickly licked out and the bone loses it's chill. They have lots of chewie bones laying around the house. Duck jerky is a favorite but expensive treat that we don't often have in the house. White Dog careful pondered her choices and weighed her final decision. Quinn sat patiently awaiting the verdict, just happy to know something was soon coming his way. White Dog woofed and walked to the refrigerator...but then came back (almost colliding with her excited brother) and nosed the jerky bag. "Are you sure," I asked? She hesitated as if to suggest both but knew the answer without even voicing that option. White Dog looked pointedly at the bag and sat. I reached for the bag and at the sound of it opening The Other White Dog executed a perfect "sit" next to her. Duck Jerky for everyone! I generously doled out strips.
