White Dog yawned as Adam, the last guest, left at 11pm. "Honest to dog," she told the equally tired Quinn, "these guys start partying mid afternoon and just don't know when to quit!"
" I know what you mean," Quinn sighed, "the salmon disappeared by 4pm, there was barely enough steak left for us to nibble by 6, by 8 everyone had gone back for a second round of grilled veggies and salad and goat cheese appetizers." "And by 10 the watermelon and cupcakes were history!" White Dog completed. "And then Richard suggested coffee!" TOWD moaned, "I hate to admit it but I had to agree with Dragon that there just wasn't room for any more samples; I had to sneak off and take a digestion nap!"
White Dog continued, "And man, can they all talk! I just wanted to call for Quiet Time but then I probably would have had to entertain them!"
"You know I can hear you both," I said as I carried plates out to the kitchen, "and I might remind you that neither of you turned down a single morsel of the fantastic meal and in fact you two were the ones sitting at the side of the grill hoping to be first!"
"Before we head off to bed," White Dog said as she eyeballed the few slices of cheddar left on the tray, "let us help cleanup the leftovers." Steve swooped down just then and popped the last cubes into his mouth.
