National Institute of Culture (INC) workers found ancient remains and relics in Sector II of the archaeological area of Mauk’a Livitaka in the Chumbivilcas province of Cusco.
The unearthed remains belong to a male, about 34 years old, and were found along with a small dish decorated with images of medicinal plants.
In Mauk’a Livitaka, the INC is carrying out archaeological restoration and research works since 2007.
In parallel to these works, the surroundings of the archeological area have also been explored, discovering petroglyphs of camelids, herbs and other figures.
