White Dog carried in our first clue of the morning's weather surprise. Mind you, Albuquerque usually this time of year is in the full bloom of Spring with balmy 60-degree days, gusty canyon winds, and lots of clear sunny blue skies. It is our favorite season with its new buds bursting, bobbing daffodils, and fresh green smell. We were certainly not expecting a snow shower at dawn as White Dog announced by hopping back up on the bed after being outside and shaking out her coat. She woofed to Steve as she hurried back out to play in the on-going storm making tracks and plowing through the almost 2" of snow with her nose. (Khyra, in PA that would be about 18" comparably, I think!) The white flakes continued to fall until late morning; then the sun came out.
Now, in the pre-dinner hour, White Dog and Quinn look out the front window and can find no evidence of this morning's phenomenon. Traces linger in the shaded corners of the yard but somehow the mystique of trees and cars and our world all shrouded in this morning's surprising white is gone. Ahhh, White Dog says, turning to Quinn, but we can see the daffodils and tulips across the street once again!
