Opinions Please

A couple of weeks ago, I decided to "Mistreat" my windows, and I loved the way they turned out.

They were almost perfect, except for one teeny, tiny thing....

They weren't long enough.

I mean, they just barely touched the floor....on one edge....but actually cuffed just a bit on the other edge.

You see, one thing that I didn't take into consideration when I glued my trim on was that the trim would sort-of "shrink-up" the edge of the fabric.

In other words, I pulled the trim a little tighter than I pulled the material when gluing, so now it's gapped up.

Nobody that has seen them has noticed it, except for me.

And it is DRIVING ME CRAZY!

So, after looking through the Nester's library of Mistreatments, I decided that I would try to fix it by adding a complimentary material to the bottom of the curtains.

I went in search of a beautiful plaid or stripe, but just couldn't find what I was looking for.

Then, I found this....

Yes, I know that polka-dots are the farthest thing from plaid or stripes you can get, but the colors are EXACTLY the same.

After a lot of back-and-forth and persuasion from my husband, I bit the bullet, bought a couple yards, bought some more fluffy trim, and headed home.

This is just a rough mock-up, but what do you think?

The actual length of fabric will be a little shorter because I underestimated how many yards I would need, but it will be at least a 1 1/2 to 2 feet band at the bottom.

I know some of the purists out there will probably hate it, but I've never been one to "follow the rules" and want something a little different. (Just not as different as that awful green!)

I like that it is a little "funky", without being too weird.

So, do I go ahead and plug-in my glue gun, or do I wait and see if I can find the perfect plaid or stripe?
