White Dog, tail wagging and yipping a "Welcome" greeting was at the gate to meet Nancy and Michael when they got off of the train. It was a perfect, sunny New Mexico day. White Dog sat patiently as Michael scratched her ears and, eyes aglow, told us about the grandest adventure they had ever undertaken! The twenty-four hour train trip was a victory for them because they had done it by themselves and had succeeded! White Dog, Steve and I were so proud of them and were delighted as Michael spoke of seeing deer and cattle and snow topped mountains. It is hard for the challenged to make changes and we know this has not been easy for them. We also know that there will be a big adjustment curve. But White Dog has assured them--and--us, that somehow everything will fall into place and that they will soon think of the Land of Enchantment as their home.
