January 1, 2010
White Dog and Steve waited for the fireworks and hoopla to calm down in the neighborhood at midnight and then went for a "Greet the New Year" walk under the blue moon. It was cold and when they returned, chilled, both were more than happy to snuggle deeply into the blankets for "a long winter's nap." This morning after breakfast, they went the the Park and ran. White Dog barked "Happy New Year!" to the many two- and four-leggeds who were also out on the first day of the new year enjoying the rolling hills and soft green lawn of her favorite Park. It has been a mellow, non-directed day which now appears will become an impromptu party. Adam and Gordon have stopped by with well wishes and Richard has called to announce that he "needs to cook" and is coming over to make cheese enchiladas for us all. Adam, for his contribution, found a lemon cake mix in our cabinet, which he is in the process of turning into treats. Steve and Gordon are chopping veggies to make salad...and of course, White Dog is supervising us all. Happy New Year!
