Today's fab photo comes from the 1965 collapse of No.7 Coronation Street.There have been rumours in the past about the set of Coronation Street being moved to a new location but ITV has previously said it has decided to stay put at the old Quay Street location but now it seems to be coming closer to reality. Today's Guardian reports that ITV have been made an offer for the cost of rebuilding the set in Salford's new Media City UK site near Old Trafford. They'd be sharing the studios with the BBC in a brand, spanking new, high tech facility. The cost of moving was previously thought to be too high and the deal offered by the owners of the facility, Peel Group, wasn't worth the effort. Peel have now made a new offer and the talks are back on again. It won't happen until at least 2011 when the facility is due to open. It sounds like they'll demolish the old site. That's too bad, it would have been a great idea to open it again to the public as a tourist site!
