Len Windass works for charity?

Len Windass would only work for one charity, himself, but his portrayer, Conor Ryan, seems tireless in his efforts to give back to society now that he's in a position to do it. Ian Wylie of the MEN has a great interview in today's paper with Conor and it gives you a good understanding of how different this man is from his character, tough and threatening Len Windass. One of his upcoming gigs is at Albert Hall in London. Christmas Carols with the Stars (Dec. 10) is in aid of this blog's favourite charity, Leukemia Research. Conor was also a psychiatric nurse in Wythenshaw Hospital for many years so he also participates in local charity runs.

One interesting anecdote in that interview...you may remember seeing Len wearing a sheepskin jacket. That coat belonged to Conor's father who passed away before Conor got the role on Corrie. It's kind of a tribute and a very nice one. It's also a bit of a tradition as Roy Cropper's original bag belonged to David Neilson's late mother.

We don't see much of Len Windass and we won't see him at all for a few months as Conor is heading to Los Angeles to try his hand at auditions there.
