White Dog spent the day trying to honor the notion of "a day of rest" but was constantly interrupted to carry out supervising duties. Instead of an after breakfast nap, she got Steve going cutting tile for the counter top, double checking his measurements (measure twice, cut once). Confident that he could carry on for a while without her watchful eye, White Dog trotted past me on her way to lounge on the bed in the sun. She pulled up short..."What are you doing?" she asked as she spotted the special bags and goodies for the Canine Honor Guard Thank Yous. Of course, once again, rest was delayed while she stayed to direct my assembly...and do some important taste testing! White Dog took a quick snooze but woke with a start because we were quiet--too quiet--and she came rushing into the computer room to find me writing in and visiting blogs without her! Zounds! She hopped right up on my lap and made me show her what I had done (and stayed to help me finish). As we finished, just as White Dog climbed up on the couch and got comfortable, Steve returned from the grocery. She ran out to help unload and then had to make sure everything was properly put away. No time for sleeping, then, Steve had brought pulled pork home for dinner!
