White Dog "got" Steve with an early Halloween trick during tonight's pre-bed walk. She waited patiently while Steve bundled up (it is still quite cold) and snapped on her leash. Then they started off. It was business as usual as they strolled and she sniffed and checked out the status of the neighborhood. About halfway along their normal route, White Dog stopped suddenly and lifted her head as though she were listening to some inner voice. Without further warning she reversed direction and RAN home at top speed. Steve was sure that White Dog sensed something was wrong at home and he burst into the house winded and in a panic. "What's wrong?" I looked up and asked, a little rattled at their entry. "What's wrong HERE?" Steve gasped. Of course, everything was just fine all around. We both looked at White Dog who was serenely sitting on the bed licking a chewie bone. She gave us a coy look and nuzzled Steve's side.
