White Dog was nestled against my legs all snuggled into the blankets when Steve came in and said, "OK, let's go to the Park!" Normally that would have prompted a leap to action and a mad dash to the door. But this morning it was cold...and still dark...and she was so tired from all the social whirl of the weekend. She lifted her head and peered unseeing then once again closed her eyes. "Come on let's go!" Still no response. "I'm leaving!" spoken as Steve went out of the front door and loudly closed it behind him. He waited in vain as White Dog rolled onto her back and pushed deeper into the covers. Steve came back in and tried to pet her into excitement but no go; White Dog was giving up her opportunity for a Park run! Not too reluctantly, Steve took off his running clothes and came back to bed for an extra half hour of bedtime; White Dog shifted against him, snoring.
