White Dog had barely started her first morning nap when Steve called out "Gregg, Candace, and Dragon are here!" Their schedule is crazy but they missed us all. They were here to make breakfast for us and to grab a few stolen moments together before their overwhelming obligations pushed in. White Dog, not yet in her hostess mode, greeted Dragon by whacking him in the head with her paw. Despite that, he gave her a bag of her favorite Dugan's Barkery treats as a Happy Halloween present. Gregg and Candace then "whipped up" bacon (regular and turkey), lamb sausage, and blue corn pancakes with blood oranges...we all shared this fantastic meal to greet the day and visited for awhile before they had to hurry off to a baby shower. Bacon-breath White Dog now had a very full tummy and a great need for a post breakfast nap. She settled in while Steve went to yoga. When he returned he brought Adam home with him! Adam is going to visit his parents back East for a few weeks so we sent him off with green chile Tostada Compusesta and guacamole (White Dog had a beef taco). White Dog spent lots of time playing with Adam as well...we want him to know he will be missed and to hurry back. She did think it was very cool that he was taking the train cross country and wondered if dogs could travel that way? When Adam finally left I commented that I was very happy but it seemed like all we had done all day was eat and visit with friends. White Dog looked at me, puzzled, "What is the problem in that?!"

P.S. The best news is that Steve did not have time to fill in White Dog's earthwork art...so it survives--at least until next weekend!
