White Dog, as always on Tuesdays and Fridays, was watching for Mark, my visiting nurse, and she gave an excited welcome as he walked up the driveway. She was so busy receiving his belly rubs and hello that White Dog was startled when Steve walked through the door and sat down. His presence at my usual routine made her nervous and she looked at me. "It is OK," I said. "Dad is just here in case he has any final questions!" Today I graduated; it was Mark's last visit. Both he and the doctor agreed that I was well enough to go unmonitored and be independent enough for only monthly office visits! "That's right," Mark confirmed to her. White Dog relaxed and sat on Steve's lap as Mark performed his last exam and we filled out paperwork; then she effusively thanked Mark (as did I) for his great care. Yahoo! Another small victory on the long road to recovery!
