White Dog was not in the mood this morning. Steve was ready to go to the Park but White Dog wasn't. First, he had to coax her just to get her out of the house. Then he begged for her to get in the car (she wouldn't leave the bench) so Steve carried her and placed her on the back seat. To protest White Dog wouldn't look out of the window but stubbornly stayed lying on the seat. At the Park, Steve flung open the door expecting the usual leap out and excited dance to "get moving!" Instead, White Dog got out and sat on the curb looking at Steve as though he was crazy. Steve explained again that Park days had to be moved to Mondays and Wednesdays because he is teaching on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and must consequently get to "his real job" a little earlier on those days. White Dog nodded, but then hopped back into the car refusing the opportunity, as if to say "this is not Park day!"
