This YouTube was taken at a recent town hall meeting held by U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (D - Tampa Bay) on health care reform:
The racism at these events is always implicit, sometimes explicit. When this kind of fascist mob scene erupts in Alaska (it will), as it did around the civil rights hearings over the late spring and summer in Anchorage, will the Alaska media have the courage to portray it accurately as the most disgustingly racist set of events in recent American history? Will the Anchorage Daily News editors have the wisdom to put the Alaska protests into some sort of meaningful national context, and relate it to the vile outpourings of this kind of proto-fascist hate speech that occurred time and time again outside of Sarah Palin campaign events in September and October, 2008?
I hope so, but doubt it will be covered in any depth.
