My Comment: As long time readers of this blog know, I have been writing constantly on how lack of direction, vision, and leadership (from the top) is now resulting in the deaths and injuries of British soldiers in Afghanistan.
Unlike Iraq, where the British went into hiding at their main base in Basra .... they do not have the same opportunities for protection and defense in Afghanistan. They must be out in the field, which in turn exposes them to enemy fire and IEDs.
The procurement of proper vehicles for British soldiers in Afghanistan is a symbol of how screwed up this mission has now become .... and what makes this entire affair even more disquieting, is that the political leaders are not changing their strategy on how to approach this war.
