Israeli Soldiers In Gaza Describe A 'Moral Twilight Zone' -- McClatchy News

JERUSALEM — Israeli combat soldiers have acknowledged that they forced Palestinian civilians to serve as human shields, needlessly killed unarmed Gazans and improperly used white phosphorus shells to burn down buildings as part of Israel's three-week military offensive in the Gaza Strip last winter.

My Comment: War News Updates covered the Hamas-Israel war in Gaza extensively during the conflict when it broke out at the beginning of this year. I cannot say that I am surprised by the reporting and "revelations" that are being made right now. The use of human shields happened numerous times (especially in the heavily populated urban sectors), and the use of white phosphorous was also captured on film and video numerous times.

Personally .... I am glad that the soldiers are now coming out and voicing their opposition to the methods and tactics that were used. They clearly believe that the strategy that was implemented in that war was not the right one to do .... and are using a public forum to voice their concerns.

What we now need is Hamas to do a review of their own tactics used during this war .... but (unfortunately) I doubt that this is going to happen.
