A brilliant way to transform a yard or public space that has previously been covered with concrete. Use heavy equipment to create cracks in the concrete, and then seed the areas with plants tolerant of such an environment.
The planting within the cracks is somewhat random, changing regularly depending on the whims and desires of the resident gardeners, but usually includes a wide range of vegetables, herbs, flowers and weeds. An award-winning concept from the American Society of Landscape Architects. Via Neatorama.
