White Dog could not get comfortable enough to sleep until the wee hours of the morning--nor could we. The heat wave finally hit ABQ and the night was stifling. We have not yet hooked up the evaporative cooler so the nocturnal dance involved shifting blankets, opening different combinations of windows, turning on the ceiling fan, finding and setting up a table fan, and the normal process of desert night air cooling. No combo was perfect at any one time. While adjusting things we moved together, we moved apart, we went to the bathroom...White Dog made frequent visits outside. Finally, at nearly 3am fans blasting directly on the bed, covers stripped to sheet only and windows wide open we all found enough relief to get some rest.
