28 Die After Bombers And Gunmen Launch Daring Attack On Afghan government -- Times Online
Taleban gunmen wearing suicide vests stormed the Justice Ministry and other government offices in Kabul yesterday, leaving 28 people dead and 57 wounded.
Six insurgents attacked a heavily defended district that houses the Justice, Education and Finance ministries. As the attacks were happening, Taleban spokesmen contacted news agencies to claim responsibility.
At 10.03am a suicide bomber tried to enter the Education Ministry but was shot dead by police, Hanif Atmar, the Interior Minister, told a news conference. Two minutes later five gunmen burst through security at the neighbouring Justice Ministry.
