From AFP:
KHOST, Afghanistan (AFP) — A suicide car bomb near an Afghan government office killed seven people Sunday, police said, as the Canadian military announced two of its soldiers and two Afghans died in another blast.
There were no claims of responsibility for the attacks, the latest in a wave of violence linked to a growing Taliban-led insurgency in Afghanistan, which is being fought by tens of thousands of foreign troops from about 40 countries.
The suicide attacker blew up a bomb-filled car that he was driving in the Ismail Khail district of the eastern province of Khost, near the border with Pakistan, police said.
"Seven people, including four children, were killed and another 30 children were wounded in the suicide attack," the district police chief, who uses only the name Jamal, told AFP.
