From Voice Of America:Pakistan's army chief, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, has assured NATO commanders meeting in Brussels that he will keep supply lines to their troops in Afghanistan open after a surge in attacks along the Afghan-Pakistani border.
A top NATO officer, Italian Navy Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola, told reporters afterward that Kayani also urged the alliance to work with local tribal leaders, rather than just trying to seal off the border through force, which he said cannot be done.

My Comment: This is a perfect example that illustrates why Pakistan and NATO/Afghanistan must work together. The problem in the past has always been Pakistan wanting to work on all sides.
This is not possible in today's environment. The days when Pakistan not only tolerated but worked with the Taliban and other extremist groups are now over. If Pakistan maintain's an open corridor for the transport of goods into Afghanistan .... we can then assume that they are on our side.
