
The last entry was, indeed, a "rosy-lipped batfish." Image credit to National Geographic; the critter does have modified fins that allow it to "walk" on the seabed. The "lipstick" is said to "enhance species recognition during spawning. For round 12 I'll continue to veer as far as possible away from the ever-popular-among-this-crowd "cute and fuzzy" category, and ask not just for the creature's identity, but for a "what in the world is going on here"-type explanation...
