Asif Zardari - friend of the USAPakistan Daily, on 13 Agust 2008, had an item entitled America's CIA Versus Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf ( Text-only version )
According to Pakistan Daily:
1. Musharraf was most annoyed that the USA, and the Pakistan People's Party (the Bhutto party now led by Asif Zardari), wanted to weaken the Pakistan intelligence service ISI.
2. "It was after this disagreement with the U.S. that it was decided in Washington that he (Musharraf) must be removed and, suddenly, we find Mr. Zardari changing tone, demeanor and language to join hands with PML (N) (political party) to impeach the besieged President..."
3. "With all the political parties in the U.S. pocket, the army and the ISI are the next targets once the President is annihilated."
4. The USA, UK and India oppose Musharraf and want to weaken the Pakistan military.
5. The USA has been involved with the U.S.-installed and backed PPP government in Islamabad to find ways and means to bring ISI under its tighter control.
6. ISI has never totally controlled ISI, despite the very close relationship between the CIA and ISI.
