Dedë Gjon Luli Dedvukaj, -( 1840-1915 )-

Ded Gjo Luli, formally known as Dedë Gjon Luli Dedvukaj (1840-1915), was born in Traboin in Hoti (Malësi e Madhe). He was one of the leading nationalists of the Albanian revolt against Turkey in the early 1900's. Deda is most known for starting the revolution for Albanian Independence, along with Luigj Gurakuqi, Ismail Qemali, and Isa Boletini, and was the leader of the Malësori Albanians at the time of Independence.



He was the first person to raise the Albanian Flag on 1911 in the Albanian town of Tuzi, Montenegro, following national hero Gjergj Kastrioti (Skenderbeg) on 1443. In Tirana, Albania today, there is a street named in his honour called "Rruga Ded Gjo Luli".
