Deborah McAndrew, from Corrie's Angie Freeman to successful playwright

Coronation Street's Angie Freeman was one of my favourite Corrie women. She was feisty, ambitious and was the first woman to drink pints in the Rovers. She also broke Curly's heart when she left the Street to find her fame and fortune but I think we can forgive her after all these years.

Anyway, actress Deborah McAndrew, who played Angie Freeman, is now carving out a successful career for herself as a playwright. Her latest play is called Flamingoland and is playing at the New Victoria Theatre in Newcastle-under-Lyme. It sounds brilliant and a little subverse. If you're in the area, catch Deborah's new play if you can. You can read more on this story here. As always, I credit my sources.

Isn't it about time Curly returned to the cobbles?
